Day 1: Nairobi - Mt Longonot
Depart Nairobi direction mt Longonot On route you will stop for views across the Great Rift Valley, Mt Longonot game drive and lunch on at camps or lodges around L. Naivasha, safari photo, crater view, along with buffalo, lion, giraffe, waterbuck, and the elusive leopard. Late afternoon, proceed to your accommodation for dinner and overnight -Naivasha hotels/camps; Crater lake lodge, L.Naivasha country club, Burchs camp, Sawela lodge, Chui lodge, Rift valley lodge, Camp Carnelleys, Endchata campsite, Oldubai campsite, Fisherman camp, Fish Eagle Inn., Elsamare cansevation center, Eburru guet cottages, Kiboko luxury camp, L.Naivasha Sopa lodge, OR Naiburuta campsite.
Day 2: Lake Naivasha – Sawela lodge, Fish eagle inn or Elsamere – Crater Lake,sopa lodges in – Lake Naivasha
After breakfast proceed to Elsamere is home to the late Joy and George Adamson, of Born Free fame. This is now a conservation centre and museum where you will enjoy an hour-long boat ride on Lake Naivasha, before a delicious lunch in their beautiful gardens. You can look out for some of the hundreds of bird species as well as the hippos (which you may hear at camp tonight!). During lunch you may even have the company of black and white colobus monkeys and many different species of birds. After lunch you proceed to the Crater Lake Conservancy where you can walk up to the rim of the beautiful volcanic crater for views down to the emerald-green crater lake. Flamingo populations have boomed here recently, having migrated from Lake Nakuru. With your guide you can walk through the conservancy area trekking after plains animals including giraffe, eland and gazelle –while admiring the various species of birds and plants. Depart for your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Lake Naivasha - Nairobi
After breakfast, you drive the short distance to the entrance of Mt longonot National Park. Soon after you enter the park the impressive landscape unfolds before you, and you are transported to a dramatic, semi-arid world, with sheer rugged cliffs, open plains and deep concealed gorges. There are many activities you can do in Mt Longonot including, walking, cycling, rock climbing, bird watching and trekking through the gorge amongst the geysers – the choice is yours. Enjoy picnic lunch, then mid afternoon depart for Nairobi for a well-earned hot shower and cold drink.
